Crew. Somebody who took a berth on a bad ship because the good ships were not hiring, and has been aboard long enough to stop pretending it is temporary.
They fight with a ship's knife and an unearned confidence, and most of them would rather rob you than kill you, because a corpse is paperwork and a robbery is a Tuesday.
