The Church of Elandria
Five hundred years after the Heroes of Southaven, the Church is the largest institution on Newcome: a continent-spanning body with its own courts, schools, granaries, and roads. It canonized the Heroes within a century of their deaths and has been quietly editing them ever since.
It is not the only faith on the world. All seven gods have followings, and the Circle of Verdant Flame and the Monks of Seraphis are older. The Church is simply the one that built an administration, which is why "the Church" means this one when nobody bothers to specify.
In Brandyburrow this amounts to a chapel, a priest who also keeps bees, and two services a week that most of the village attends out of habit.
