Kesst Sidearm

The most common object in the galaxy that is not a ration bar. A Kesst is a small standardized casting in a housing, stamped out in the tens of millions, sold in every port, and repairable by anyone who has ever held one.

Nobody loves a Kesst. Everybody has one.

Licensed

Every arcane effect in civilised space is licensed, shielded, and metered. The plate on the grip is the licence, and a port inspector can read the meter to see how many times it has been discharged and where.
