The Heroes of Southaven
Five hundred years ago, five adventurers out of a frontier town called Southaven stopped the Unmaker's return. Every child on Newcome can name all five and most can name their weapons.
Dravencoles, the human paladin who bore the Hammer. Lirielle, the diviner who wore the Crown. Ferinthria Everflame, whose wild magic did the thing at the end that nobody can quite explain. Landor Vess, the general who did not break. Momeline Sweetwater, the halfling who could not be held.
Every telling of the heroes' adventure adds more drama and detail. The version sung in Brandyburrow has Momeline crossing a chasm no map records, and the version taught in the cities has Dravencoles speaking a full page of liturgy while dying, which he did not.
Southaven itself is a real place, still standing, a pilgrimage stop with a museum and a poor selection of inns.
Three of them may still be alive
Dravencoles was human and Momeline a halfling, and both have been dead for centuries. The other three were elves.
Ferinthria would be 573 now. Lirielle and Landor would both be 554. That is old for an elf and nowhere near impossible, and the question of where they are is one the Church answers vaguely and the histories do not answer at all.
